Cream Bun (Kerala Bakery Style)

Its a yummy snack available in the bakeries of Kerala. Very easy to prepare and can be even consumed as regular bun without applying the cream inside.
This recipe was prepared as an inspiration from the malayalam movie Sajan Bakery.

Its a yummy snack available in the bakeries of Kerala. Very easy to prepare and can be even consumed as regular bun without applying the cream inside.

Steps

To lukewarm milk add 1 tsp sugar and yeast. Mix and keep aside for proofing.

Mix the flour with salt and 5 tsp sugar. Add the milk mixture little by little to this flour mixture and knead it to a sticky dough.

Knead it again to obtain a smooth soft dough for 6-7 minutes and leave it covered for proofing by appling butter/oil over it. It takes 1 hr.

Now knead the expanded dough for 1-2 minutes. Divide it into even balls and allow it to sit for another 10 minutes.

Heat the oil in pan and fry the dough balls in medium flame, till golden brown in colour.

Meanwhile prepare the cream by mixing butter and icing sugar.

Cut the buns horizontally and apply the cream inside. Enjoy.
