Ingredients

  1. 200 gmwhole ripe peas
  2. 1big potato cut in dice
  3. 1big onion sliced
  4. 2 table spoononion paste
  5. 1 table spoonginger garlic paste
  6. 1medium size tomato cut in pieces
  7. 1 teaspooncumin powder
  8. 1 teaspooncoriander powder
  9. 1/2 teaspoonturmeric powder
  10. 1/4 teaspoongaram masala powder
  11. 3 table spoonmustard oil
  12. 1bay leaf
  13. 4cloves
  14. 2cardamom
  15. 1 inchcinnamon
  16. 1 teaspooncumin seeds
  17. as per tasteSalt

Cooking Instructions

    Soak the peas overnight

    Then in a pressure cooker cook them with 1 teaspoon salt for 3 to 4 whistles

    Heat the oil in a kadai then fry the diced potatoes and set them aside.

    Then put the bay leaf, whole spices and cumin seeds, let them splatter. Then put the scliced onion.

    When the onions become golden brown put the ginger garlic paste and fry a little bit then add the onion paste fry it till the raw smell goes away. Now add the tomatoes. Cook till it becomes mushy.

    Now add the cumin powder, coriander powder and turmeric powder put a little bit water if required to prevent burning of the spices.

    Now cook for some time, then add the fried potatoes and then the boiled matar with water.

    Add the seasing. Then cook it for another 5 to 6 minutes. Now add the garam masala powder.

    Serve it with puri or roti
