I don't have time in the morning to cook porridge in a microwave or over the hob.
This recipe only uses boiling water.
But you need 7 500ml jars with lids.
Prep time: 2 mins. Cook time: 5 mins.

I don't have time in the morning to cook porridge in a microwave or over the hob.
This recipe only uses boiling water.
But you need 7 500ml jars with lids.

Steps

*I food process/blend 85g (1 cup) of rolled oats because it turns into oat flour and makes the porridge more creamy.
If you don't have the machinery, then you don't have to, you just put 405g (5 cups) of normal rolled oats in (see below).* - 2
*Any 1 spice ingredient, use 1 tsp.
Any 1 fruit, nuts etc, use 28g (1/3 cup).
If you are using two different spices, half the measurement.
If you are using 2 different ingredients like nuts and fruit, half the measurement.
1/3 measurement for 3 etc...
You don't want to overload, it is porridge after all but you can change it to your own preference!* - 3
Option 1:
Food process/blend 85g (1 cup) of oats into oat flour and put into large mixing bowl with 320g (4 cups) of rolled oats and mix.
Option 2:
Put 405g (5 cups) rolled oats into large mixing bowl.
Add cinnamon (or your choice spices) and mix.
Divide the mixture into 7 jars.
Add fruit toppings on top of each jar. - 4
Cook:
Add 125ml (1/2 cup) of boiling water and a squeeze of honey (optional, you can use sugar instead or whatever you like to sweeten, or skip this step to not sweeten), stir. - 5
Put lid on jar and leave for 5 minutes to cook.
