Put the boiled (or microwaved) potatoes in any kind of plastic bag you have on hand.

When the potatoes have cooled to the touch, put them in the bag and mash them with your hands.

If the potatoes are still piping hot, cover the plastic bag with a towel, and mash them with the palm of your hands.
