Homemade Bakso Sapi/Indonesian Beef Meatballs

Bakso is one of the famous Indonesian food. In my country bakso is street food, although you can find the bakso as frozen food. You just add noodles and some bok coy and bakso are ready.
But this time I tried to make the meatballs and alhamdulillah after almost 1.5 years today, we can eat bakso 😋🤤.
Else eating bakso with noodles sometimes we are using bakso for the fried fries.

Bakso (meat balls) Bakso (meat balls)
Bakso is the number one street food in Indonesia. On every corner of the country you will find it being sold in different ways: in eating-in stalls, on the street stalls, and even door to door using a moving cart. When I moved to the Netherlands and couldn't find it as easy as in Indonesia, I became obsessed with finding the right technique to create the perfect balance of the structure that Indonesian baksos have. The meat balls have to be chewy but also tender at every bite. After some experiments and internet research, I found that the secret is pretty simple: chicken should be used in the meat mix. Basically you just combine those two and fry it (you can also steam it). I once had a delicious tahu bakso in another city and I wanted some, but couldn't find a similar one in my city. I use Indonesian tofu but you can use any firm tofu. Just adjust the size to your liking. Angela Mertoyono -

We love meatballs but I am always wary buying the packaged meatballs. It is healthier and of course cheaper to make them on your own. I like to store the mixture in the fridge for at least an hour so the meatballs will be firmer, but you can cook them right away if you like. Angela Mertoyono -

Bakso Goreng (Fried Meatballs) Bakso Goreng (Fried Meatballs)
Many vendors sell these here, but of course it is healthier to make them on your own. Bear in mind that they will shrink a bit after frying, so they won't be completely round. Still tasty. We enjoy these with homemade mayo and a touch of chili sauce. You can make bigger or smaller meatballs. I made medium ones, about 1.5 cm in diameter. They will get bigger after you fry them. During this pandemic, our stores are empty. There is hardly any meat. I've stocked up on things like frozen meat balls and SPAM. The turkey meatballs I have are not very good at all. This sauce covers the flavor up some. TrailerParkBoils
