Kolkata style Jhal Muri (Masala Muri / Sukha Bhel)

#mychildhoodrecipe #aloo #cookpadindia
Outside the school gate near the Big Red Metal Post Box a foot or two away from the Tram tracks used to sit our favourite Jhal Muri wala. Before all the food hawkers were allowed inside in our big school field during the Tiffin break and kids used to enjoy it but after a kidnap incident in one of the schools, all were stopped from entering the school premises and poor souls the business got effected and they started sitting in and around the school premises when the school got over. So we used to enjoy after school sometimes and my favourite was the Jhal Muri which we used to get in a small newspaper packet ( recycled newspaper) called "Thonga".

Steps
- 1
Soak the Chana overnight first and then on the day of having it prepare the Muri masala first and boil the potatoes and prepare all other ingredients.
In a bowl add the Muri / murmure/ puffed rice. Then add all other ingredients one by one. Then at last the 2 Tsp or as per taste Muri masala, mustard oil and lemon juice or tamarind water. Sprinkle little sevai bhaji on top on individual serving and serve with a slice of coconut. Enjoy ! - 2

Note :
1. Have it immediately, you can't keep this Jhal Muri for long, it will become soggy.
2. You can add cucumber too but since I have issue with cucumber, most of the time I skip.
