Ingredients

2 servings
  • 300 gBeef(chuck, ribeye), thinly sliced
  • 1/2onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cupDashi(Japanese stock)
  • 3 tbspMirin(Japanese cooking wine)
  • 2 tbspSoy sauce
  • 1Green onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tspBrown sugar
  • White sesame for decorating

  1. 1

    Use a large saucepan. Turn on medium heat. Add dashi, mirin, soy sauce and brown sugar. Bring it to boil.

  2. 2

    Sauté the onion until tender and translucent.

  3. 3

    Add beef. Cook until they turn light brown. Remove the excessive foam and fat before it’s done.

  4. 4

    Serve with steamed rice and onsen tamago(soft-cooked egg). Finally, Sprinkle the green onion and sesame just before serving.
