Swiss rolls is extremely popular among children as a snack or sweet dish . This idea popped into my mind when I was trying to find all-purpose flour to make some Shakkarparas. That's when I realized that it wasn't that bad of an idea to make Swiss Rolls on a stovetop. Swiss rolls are majorly made up of Eggs and Flour. And these are not baked. But instead done on a Tawa. These Chocolate Swiss Rolls are filled up with sweetened Whipped Cream. It's a much easy take on the original version that's baked.
But it's always handy to cook on a Tawa especially when you have to do loads of other stuff in the kitchen.
This was an instant try but it has become a habit now. I always make these Swiss Rolls on a Tawa only.
And these measurements are for a single Swiss Roll. You can double or triple the recipe if desired but I recommend that you do it one at a time with these same measurements. Or else do it on two Pans or Tawa as possible. That way it will be much effortlessly done.

Steps

25-30 minutes
  1. 1

Initially, whip up some heavy cream with some powdered sugar and set it in the fridge.

  2. 2

Crack up the eggs in a wide bowl. Beat these up with an electric beater or on a standing mixture for about 30 seconds.

  3. 3

After that, add in the cinnamon and sugar and beat on high speed for about 5-10 minutes or till your egg mix has become fluffy and pale yellow. Beating the eggs is the only that can ensure you a fluffy and a light Swiss Roll.

  4. 4

Preheat your non-stick pan by letting it heat up steadily on a low flame. At this point, add in the cocoa powder. While stirring in though, care must be taken to add in LEVELLED tablespoons both of cocoa powder and the flour. That's why iam stressing on the point Levelled here.

  5. 5

Don't do the mistake of adding in heaped tablespoons of both the flours. In such a scenario, the swiss rolls are destroyed. Now fold the flours into the mixture. Work with tenderness.

  6. 6

On a non-stick pan, pour this mixture and smooth out q it into a circle.

  7. 7

Once done, put it on a piece of aluminium foil. Next, immediately spread out the whipped cream. The best part about using whipped cream is that despite being tasty, it even was proof that my swiss roll turned out perfect !

  8. 8

Fold it carefully and finally wrap it with an aluminium foil and put it in the refrigerator for a few minutes to set. Take it out and slice into thick pieces. Serve with an extra dollap of whipped cream.

Homemaker by choice and a passionate cook by heart. An aspiring cook who actually never knew anything about Cooking until i became a mother myself. With Motherhood came the responsibilities as well and this was the turning point in my life.I started to learn the ABC's of cooking, taking help from my mother and my MIL. And time just flew. I spread my wings higher and higher. With my love for excellence and innovation, i stepped into a world of homecooks with my exposure to Cookpad one fine day on the social media. And there was no looking back since then and i have not only shared recipes here on this wonderful platform but also have made some lovely friends as well. Today iam successful because of my hard work, dedication and loads of good wishes of my family and my kids in particular.
