These masala bites or dumplings is a perfect recipes ideal for breakfast or to satisfy hunger pangs in less time. Although the batter taste gives you a south Indian taste ,yet it could be made easily with the available ingredients at home. Do try this recipe.

Take all the three flours in a mixing bowl. Add curd and 1 cup of water little at a time.
Mix well and the batter should be like idling consistency. Cove the batter and rest it for 10 minutes. It will absorb water and swell up.

In the meantime heat the oil in a pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
Then add chopped curry leaves chana and urad dal, grated ginger and chopped green chillies. Saute for 30 seconds. Now mix the with the batter.

Add half of the grated carrot and keep rest half to use further.

Mix well the batter. Grease idli plates. Heat 2 cups of water in the idli stand. Add eno fruit salt to batter and mix with light hand. Pour the masala batter in each mould. Place grated carrot and chopped curry leaves.

Steam the idlis for7-8 minutes. Check with toothpick.
When slightly cool down, remove from the moulds and serve hot the nutritious idlis with sambar and enjoy.
