I wanted to make a modest hand roll that could be served as an everyday meal.

I used the chirashi-zushi mix because I wanted to add more ingredients, but these are also good with regular sushi rice. Arrange the dish with ingredients you have on hand. I recommend using tempura crumbs to add a nice texture. Recipe by emily74

Ingredients

4 servings
  • 520 gramsCooked rice
  • 1 packagesChirashi-zushi mix
  • 1Fish sausage
  • 1/2Carrot
  • 1Takuan (yellow pickled daikon)
  • 2leaves Cabbage
  • 2 sliceSliced cheese (or blocks)
  • 1Tempura crumbs (tenkasu)
  • 4sheets Toasted nori seaweed
  • 2Eggs
  • 30 mlMilk
  • 1Soy sauce (optional)
  • 1Mayonnaise

Steps

  1. 1

    Add the chirashi-zushi mix to the rice. (Sushi rice is also fine.)

  2. 2

    Slice all ingredients into thin strips. Wrap the carrots and cabbage separately in plastic wrap. Microwave for 1-1 and 1/2 minutes.

  3. 3

    Mix the milk and egg, and prepare an omelet. Cut eggs into long, thin strips.

  4. 4

    Serve with soy sauce to taste. Have everyone roll their own and enjoy♪
