Tuna & Green Onion Japanese-Style Omelet

I often hear busy people complaining that they want to be able to eat a proper meal in the morning but don't have time, so I came up with this recipe. This omelet can be made quickly with ingredients already on hand and is full of volume. The rich aroma of the 100% pure sesame oil will increase your appetite!

Make sure to drain the liquid from the can of tuna. If you leave too much tuna in it, the omelet won't wrap up very easily. Heat the frying pan well before pouring in the egg. If you cook the egg too much it will harden, so be careful! It's best to combine the onion and tuna in a bowl beforehand. Recipe by Kadoya-seiyu

Steps

  1. 1

    Finely chop the green onions.

  2. 2

Break the egg into a bowl and beat. Add the white roasted sesame seeds, salt, and pepper.

  3. 3

Drain the liquid from the canned tuna and lightly break it up.

  4. 4

Heat a frying pan and add the pure sesame oil. Pour the mixture from Step 3 into the pan.

  5. 5

Spread out the egg by stirring in a large motion with cooking chopsticks. While the surface of the egg is still uncooked, place the ingredients from Steps 2 & 4 in the center.

  6. 6

Wrap the ingredients in the egg and slide the egg to the far side of the frying pan. Finish cooking the omelet on the edge of the frying pan.

  7. 7

Flip the omelet over as you place it onto a plate and use a paper towel to straighten out the shape.
