Soak Daal for 5-7 hours, pressure cook with sufficient oil for 6-7 whistles, and let the pressure release by itself.

Boil sweet potatoes and green peas, assemble all other ingredients.

In a moderately heated pan add oil, add bay leaf + cumin seeds + red chili and allow to crackle, then add boiled Daal along with the water + Turmeric powder and mix well. Give 2-3 times boil.

Add green chilli + sweet potato + peas + salt (if required) and simmer for 3-4 minutes. Check for consistency (if required add water).
This is usually thick consistency daal. - 5
Lastly, add chopped coriander + ghee + sugar and simmer for 2-3 minutes and the daal is ready.

Serve with hot steamed rice and pickle.
