In a bowl, soak the sama for 15 mints.Drain and then keep aside. Heat a oil. Add cumin seeds. Now add other tadka ingredients.Add grated potatoes and green chilli.Stir and saute for a minute.

Add water 2+1/2 glass. Cook until its boiling. Add moraiyo or samo.

Add black pepper powder, cloves powder,cinnamon powder, crushed peanuts and salt.mix well.

Cover the pan with a lid and on a low flame allow the grains to simmer and get cooked. Cook for 10-12mints. Do check and stir at intervals Add buttermilk and sugar. Cook it for 2-3 mints.

Khichdi is ready.
