Sprouted Moong Dhokla

Sprouted Moong Dhokla is a type of dhokla but not a main stream one as it is made with moong sprouts which make it even more healthier. It is a soft & fluffy steamed snack. Spinach used in this recipe gives a nice colour & make it look appetizing.

Sprouted Moong Dhokla is a type of dhokla but not a main stream one as it is made with moong sprouts which make it even more healthier. It is a soft & fluffy steamed snack. Spinach used in this recipe gives a nice colour & make it look appetizing.

To make sprouts dhokla, take a mixer jar and to it add moong, spinach & green chillies & blend into smooth paste using little water.
Transfer the paste in a bowl, add besan, salt along with 1/4th cup water and make a batter of pouring consistency.
Ready the steamer & grease tin.

In the batter add fruit salt and 2 tsp of water over it. When the bubbles forms mix gently.
Transfer the batter to the grease tin & tap it once.
Steam it for around 12-15 minutes or till dhoklas are properly cooked

Heat oil in a small pan & add sesame seed, mustard seeds, Hing, curry leaves & green chillies and sauté them for a while.
Pour this tempering over the dhokla, cool slightly and cut into the desired shape.
Sprouted Dhokla are ready to serve. Serve it with your preferred choice of chutney.

NOTE: The consistency of dhokla batter should not be runny nor thick. After adding fruit salt mix the batter very gently. Remember to cool dhokla before demoulding/ cutting.
