Chana Dal kheer is a delicious kheer variety made with milk, chana dal, jaggery, and cardamom powder. It can serve as a dessert after meals or for Ramadan special sweets.
Steps

Wash chana dal well and pressure cook with 1.5 cups of water for 4 whistles.

In a pan mix jaggery and 1/4 cup of water cook until the jaggery dissolves completely, and let it boil for 2 mins, and off the flame.

In another pan fry almonds, raisins until light brown and keep aside.

Now heat ghee in the pan add cooked chana dal and saute for 5 minutes or until aromatic and light brown.

When it becomes dry, add milk and bring it to boil, simmer for 5 mins on medium flame.

Mix milk powder with 2 tbsp lukewarm water and add this in kheer, mix well.

Add cardamom powder and fried nuts, cook for another 3-4 minutes, then switch off the flame.

After 5 minutes add jaggery syrup in kheer and mix well.

Transfer to serving bowl and garnish with pistachios and almonds.
