Wash the chicken well and keep in a strainer to remove excess water.
take a grinding jar add poppy seeds, fennel seeds,green chillies. Add little amount of water and grind them together and.make a smooth paate. In a mixing bowl add curd,coriander leaves,mint and curry leaves,add all spices mentioned above. Add the ground paste and lemon juice.mix all well and coat the chicken nicely. Keep it in the refrigerator for30 min. - 2
In a kadhai or pan add oil when it becomes hot add 2 onion slices and fry until they turn golden brown. Remove from oil and keep aside.

In the same oil add whole spices and saute 30 seconds. Add 1 chopped onion and saute until they turn golden brown.now add ginger garlic paste.saute 1 minute

Add chopped tomatoes salt and powder spices mix and cook for 2 minutes. Add marinated chicken mix gently cook on high flame for 2-3 minutes.

Add 1/4cup water and cover.cook on low to medium flame for 10-15 minutes to cook the chicken.
Meanwhile chicken has cooked we must have boiled the rice so take a big vessel add 4-5 glass water add all ingredients mention for boiled rice and let the water boiled.when it started boil8ng add soaked rice and cooked the rice 70% - 6
Check the chicken it has done well.cook on high flame to evaporate the excess water.turn off the flame.
Check the rice it has cooked 70 % strain the rice and keep aside. - 7
Take a tempering pan add Desi ghee when it becomes hot add kashmiri red Chilli powder and turn off the flame.keep aside for later use.
Now take a heavy bottom vessel make a layer of half quantity of cooked chicken - 8
Add half quantity of boiled rice and spread to make a layer.spread some fried onion,coriander leaves.spread 2 tsp prepared ghee and Chilli mixture over it.make another layer of chicken.

Again spread the remaining rice and make second layer.sprinkle fried onion,coriander leaves,ghee mixture.lastly add food colour and kewra water. Cover and cook on simmer for 10 minutes.turn off the flame and leave it for 8-10 minutes.

After 10 minutes open the lid.mix gently then dish out and served with raita and salad
