There have been numerous recipes of pilau but the ingredients they use can be costly and unavailable. This is a simple pilau recipe with easy-to-get ingredients and with sweet taste and aroma.

1. Heat the oil on medium heat. Put the chopped onions to the oil. Add the grated ginger and garlic and keep turning until they turn golden brown.

Put the chopped tomatoes, coriander, chilli and keep mixing. Add the salt, masala to the mix.

Keep adding water to avoid stickiness and to form a paste. Add the already cooked meat to the paste and allow the meat to absorb the flavours.

Add the rice and mix for few seconds before pouring water.

Cook for 20 minutes under medium heat and let it cool under low heat until all water runs dry.

Serve with a drink or stew of your choice.
