  • FOR RASAM POWDER:
  • 1 tspghee
  • 1/2 tbspurad dal
  • 1/2 tbspchana dal
  • 1 1/2 TSPcoriander seeds
  • 1 tbspcumin seeds
  • 10-15black peppercorns
  • 1/4 TSPFenugreek seeds
  • 5-6dry red chilli
  • leavesCurry
  • 1 tspred chilli powder
  • FOR TOMATO RASSAM :
  • 2 TSPoil
  • 1/2 TSPmustard seeds
  • leavesCurry
  • 5-6dry red chilli
  • 2chopped garlic cloves
  • 2tomato chopped
  • 1/2 TSPturmeric powder
  • 1 tbsprasam powder
  • 2 cupstoor dal water
  • 2-3 TSPtamarind pulp
  • 2 TSPjaggery
  • leavessome chopped coriander
  • as requiredSalt to taste

    Heat oil in a pan.Add mustard seeds,curry leaves and let it splutter well

    Add dry red chilli, garlic cloves,tomato and saute well

    Add turmeric powder, prepared rasam powder and saute on medium flame

    Add toor dal, water and mix well.Add tamarind pulp, jaggery and mix well

    Bring it to a boil.Add coriander leaves and mix well

    Now transfer in a serving bowl.
