Chicken and Ham Croquettes

My first croquettes! And they got the seal of approval, haha. I used leftover chicken from a stew and added some diced ham. I have to say, they take some work and time, but it's definitely worth the effort in the kitchen.
Chicken and Ham Croquettes
My first croquettes! And they got the seal of approval, haha. I used leftover chicken from a stew and added some diced ham. I have to say, they take some work and time, but it's definitely worth the effort in the kitchen.
Steps
- 1
Clean and chop the cooked chicken.
- 2
Sauté the onion with a little butter over medium-low heat until translucent. Add the flour and mix well.
- 3
Gradually add the warm milk, stirring constantly. Once thickened, add the shredded chicken and diced ham. Mix well.
- 4
Transfer the mixture to a dish and cover with plastic wrap. Let it cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 6 hours.
- 5
With the chilled mixture, shape the croquettes using two spoons. Coat each one in breadcrumbs, then egg, then breadcrumbs again. Place them on a tray.
- 6
Fry the croquettes. Place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain.
- 7
Wait a few minutes so you don't burn yourself... and enjoy!
