Peel and wash the potatoes. Use a mandoline to slice them into thin rounds.

In a large saucepan, pour in the milk and soy cream. Season with salt, pepper, and a sprinkle of ground nutmeg.

Peel the garlic clove. Remove the germ and chop it finely. Add it to the saucepan.

Add the sliced potatoes to the saucepan.

Cook over low heat for 15 minutes, stirring regularly.

Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).

Grease a baking dish. Pour in the contents of the saucepan and bake for 30 minutes.

After 30 minutes, switch the oven to broil and cook for another 2-3 minutes to brown the top of the gratin.

Serve with a green salad.
