Ingredients

10 minutes
1 serving
  1. 1green plantain
  2. 1 cupvegetable oil(can use any frying you perfer)
  3. Pinchsalt

Cooking Instructions

10 minutes
  1. 1

With a sharp knife cut off both end of your plantain. Then score the side from one tip to the other.

  2. 2

Heat frying pan on medium heat

  3. 3

Place in microwave for four minutes. You will know it’s ready when brown

  4. 4

Once pan is hot enough add oil just enough to cover half the plantain when placed inside

  5. 5

Carefully remove peel. Should come off easy but use caution it is hot. Then slice in one inch chunks

  6. 6

Using either a tostonera or a mug/glass or and plate smush all the chunks of plantain so they are place. Little less then a cm in thickness.

  7. 7

By now the oil should be hot enough and carefully place all the slices of plantains into the pan. Don’t overfill they shouldn’t touch or will become stuck together.

  8. 8

A minute or so on each side until golden brown. Once out and on paper towel lined plate immediately pinch of salt ontop so it will stick

  9. 9

Let cool a little and serve with sauce, classic choice being mayo ketchup mix equal parts.
