Ingredients

  1. For Sauce
  2. 1.5 cup (360 ml)vegetable broth
  3. 9 tbsplow-sodium soy sauce
  4. 6 tbsprice vinegar
  5. 6 tbspmaple syrup
  6. 1.5 tspsesame oil
  7. 0.75 tspred pepper flakes
  8. 3 tbspcornstarch
  9. 1.5 tspSzechuan peppercorns
  10. 6 tspChinese rice wine
  11. For Pan
  12. 1.5 tbspvegetable oil
  13. 12 tspfresh garlic minced (4 garlic cloves)
  14. 6 tspfresh ginger minced

Cooking Instructions

    Add all ingredients for the sauce into a medium-sized bowl and stir with a whisk. Set aside.

    Next, heat vegetable oil in a saucepan or skillet over medium heat. Add fresh garlic and ginger and sauté for 30-60 seconds, stirring frequently.

    Whisk the sauce again, then pour it into the saucepan. Bring to a boil and let simmer for a few minutes until thickened, stirring frequently.

    Store sauce leftovers in a glass jar with a lid in the refrigerator for up to 4 or 5 days. Freezing is also fine to store for up to a month.
