In the Southern parts of the United States fried fish is a regular staple of our diet. Just as common as grits and eggs for breakfast, at least at our home.
Cooking Instructions

Mix the batter ingredients with it's spices rinse and dry the fish fillets. Cut the potatoes into french fries and cover with water. Add salt and stir. Let the potatoes soak at least 30 minutes just covered with salty water.

Heat oil. When soaked, drain the potatoes and dry them on paper towels. Fry them.

Fry till browned move them to paper towels to absorb excessive amounts of oil. Season the filets. Coat with the batter mixture.

Fry the filets coated with batter in the hot oil turn as needed so not to burn when done move to paper towels to absorb excessive amounts of oil. Serve with the chips, I hope you enjoy!!!

My husband and I love fish and chips, so we've been looking through various recipes. We couldn't get ahold of cod this time, so we used swordfish instead. You can use flounder, halibut, or other white fish. Remove the skin and bones!If you couldn't find dark beer, you can use normal beer. The key is to use chilled beer. Enjoy leftover beer in the kitchen while cooking (lol). Just be careful not to get drunk. This time, I made these fish and chips in a Dutch oven with my husband. I made this recipe to deep-fry the ingredients in the normal way, but if you have a Dutch oven, place the ingredients in heated oil, cover them with a lid, and leave it over very low heat for about 7 minutes.
