Ingredients

  1. 1 cuprice
  2. 2 cupmethi leaves
  3. Salt to taste
  4. leavesCurry
  5. 1onion
  6. 2tomato
  7. 1/2 cupgreen peas
  8. 4/5tsp oil
  9. Dry spices
  10. 2tsp red Chilli powder
  11. 1tsp haldi powder
  12. 1tsp garam masala
  13. 1tsp coriander powder
  14. 2tsp lemon juice
  15. leavesCoriander

Steps

20 minutes
  1. 1

    Heat a pressure cooker with oil on medium flame, Add oil, once it's hot, add spices, cumin, and curry leaves.

  2. 2

    Then add sliced onions. Saute for 2-3 minutes until they turn soft and light brown - stir regularly.

  3. 3

    Add green peas, methi leaves, and cook for another 2 minutes.

  4. 4

    Then add the masala paste and saute for 2-3 minutes until the raw smell of spices goes away. Keep stirring, or else the masala paste may get burnt.

  5. 5

    Add tomatoes and cook till tomatoes turn soft.

  6. 6

    Add turmeric powder, garam masala powder, salt, washed rice, water, and give a stir.

  7. 7

    Close the lid, place a whistle, and cook for 2 whistles on medium flame.

  8. 8

    After 10 mins, fluff up the rice gently. Add lime juice and ghee for extra flavor.

  9. 9

    Methi Pulao is ready. Serve with Raita or plain yogurt.
