I am rice lover. I can have it rice in any form. Today I have prepared savoury donuts from rice. Usually donuts/doughnuts are prepared from leavened dough and they are fried or baked and are sweet. But I have prepared it with steamed rice (leftover) and coarse wheat flour and shallow fried it.

I am rice lover. I can have it rice in any form. Today I have prepared savoury donuts from rice. Usually donuts/doughnuts are prepared from leavened dough and they are fried or baked and are sweet. But I have prepared it with steamed rice (leftover) and coarse wheat flour and shallow fried it.

In a mixing bowl, add rice, coarse wheat flour, one tsp oil and rest of all ingredients. Mix well to prepare a dough like mixture. If needed, add some water. Divide it in equal lemon sized balls.

Take 2 round cookie cutters, big and small. Grease them. Now on a greased surface put big cookie cutter and put one dough ball and press evenly. Then put small cookie cutter in centre and press it and then carefully take out so we get donut shape.

Heat the skillet and add some oil. Place the prepared donut on the skillet and shallow fry from both sides on slow to medium flame till it becomes crisp. Add few drops of oil.
Continue with rest of dough balls. - 4
Serve hot with ketchup or chutney whatever you like.
