Ingredients

1 hr 10 minutes
6 servings
  1. 1-1/2 poundsground beef
  2. 1yellow onion, diced
  3. 1green pepper, diced
  4. 1 clovegarlic, minced
  5. 1/4 cuptomato paste
  6. 15 ozdiced tomatoes
  7. 2 cupsbeef broth
  8. 2 Tbspchili powder
  9. 1 tspcumin
  10. 1 tspsalt

Cooking Instructions

1 hr 10 minutes
  1. 1

Add beef, onion and bell pepper to deep pot and cook over medium heat, breaking up meat as it cooks. When meat is cooked through, drain juices from pot.

  2. 2

Add garlic, tomato paste, diced tomatoes, beef broth, chili powder, cumin and salt; stir.

  3. 3

Bring to a boil and reduce to a simmer. Simmer at least 20 minutes, preferably an hour for the best taste and texture.

  4. 4

Serve with sour cream and shredded cheddar cheese, as desired.

  5. 5

More: the longer the chili simmers the tastier it will be. Add additional broth if too thick.

I love to bake sweet stuff, with a bit of savory tasty cooking thrown into the mix. Just good ol’ southern cuisine. Most of my recipes were handed down from my Great & Grand Grannies. If they didn’t grow it or raise it, it wasn’t eaten. My hubby and I have alot of food allergies so it gets challenging sometimes to make things that we both can eat. Neither of us can eat shellfish, which is sad, considering where we live, cuz it’s everywhere! Y’all won’t find any shellfish /saltwater fish recipes here. Some fresh water fishes, maybe. Hope y’all enjoy my recipes!
