Sweet tamarind chutney is a lip-
smacking condiment that is an integral part of Indian street foods and chaat. Also called imli chutney, meethi chutney, or saunth ki chutney, it is made using tamarind ,dates and jaggery. The perfectly balanced sweet and sour taste is so good, that you can't get enough of it. Serve it with samosa, patties, chaat, or with your favorite finger foods. Vegan, gluten- free, and ready in 15 minutes.

Ingredients

  • 250 gmTamarind
  • 200 gmdate palm deseeded cut
  • 250 gmSugar or jaggery
  • PinchSalt 🧂
  • PinchRed pepper 🌶 powder
  • tspCooking oil
  • Halfteaspoon Cumin seeds
  • Garnishing
  • Handfuldry fruits

Steps

45 minutes

    Soak temerind and dates in a hot water for 30 minutes or half an hour.

    Deseeded temerind and dates put in mixer jar and grind it well.
    Seive it well.

    Take a pan add cooking oil till heated sizzle cumin seeds and add temerind pulp with a cup of water 💧.

    Stir it well. After boiling add sugar,salt and red pepper powder to it and cooked it on low flame 🔥 for 5 minutes

    Remove from the flame and add handful of dry fruits.
