This time, the contest featured bê thui, and it just so happened that on the weekend, friends invited me to a BBQ outdoors, so I had the chance to show off my skills with this dish.
Steps
- 1
Pat the veal dry and cut into 5 pieces. Sear both sides on a grill until browned. Season the meat with garlic salt powder, then wrap each piece in aluminum foil to keep it from drying out while roasting. Roast in the oven for 20 minutes.
- 2
For the baked potatoes: Peel and thinly slice the potatoes, then arrange them in a baking dish. Finely chop the red onion and ham, and sprinkle them over the potatoes. Top with cheese and a sprinkle of garlic salt powder. Bake in the oven alongside the foil-wrapped veal. When the top is golden, it's ready.
- 3
After 20 minutes, open the foil and pour the red wine evenly over the veal. Slice the meat thinly and sprinkle with black pepper. Serve with the baked potatoes. This is a Western-style bê thui that's delicious and perfect for sharing.
