Smells Like a Carnival in Here!
Best Homemade Onion Rings I ever made. Made the house smell like a carnival with onion rings, french fries, and hamburgers. Me and my Dad getting ready for the playoff games.
Cooking Instructions
- 1
Carefully peel and slice the onion. Try and cut evenly all the way across to keep an evenness. Add the cornstarch, flour, and seasoned salt to a Ziploc bag. Shake it till the seasoned salt isn't visible as much.
- 2
Add the onion slices, I cut some crooked and became half moons. Close the bag and shake it coat every one of the onion pieces. This is super important part. If it isn't coated the batter will not stick.
- 3
Mix the batter ingredients of water, self rising flour, and seasoned salt. When you see the bubbles form it's ready for dipping. Shake the excessive dredge mixture off the onion pieces, and add to the batter.
- 4
Heat the oil. Let the onion pieces rest in the batter for 10 minutes. Fry in small batches. This allows you to turn the rings easily. Fry till lightly golden brown. Move to a paper towel to absorb excessive amounts of oil.
- 5
Repeat till done.
- 6
Serve I hope you enjoy!!!

Scent of the Tropics Pineapple Liqueur Scent of the Tropics Pineapple Liqueur
There's a bar I go to that makes lots of fruit liqueurs. They taste really good so I asked them how to make it at home and now I'm trying out lots of different flavors on my own .Add as much crystal rock sugar as you'd like, but if you make this drink really sweet, it will help preserve the fruit. A sweeter one tastes great when mixed with sodas or wine. Recipe by acchicchi cookpad.japan -
Sakura Roll Cake with the Fragrance of Spring Sakura Roll Cake with the Fragrance of Spring
I wanted to eat a sakura-flavored cake, and was wondering about how to go about making one. I referred to a couple different recipes on Cookpad for inspiration. You just mix the powdered sakura leaves with the flour, so you can use whatever cake batter you like. I wanted to bake the salted preserved sakura leaves into the cake, but was unsure where the top would be when I rolled it up, so I just stuck them on. I don't have any red food coloring, so it doesn't look too much like sakura, but it sure tastes like it. I think people that like sakura will take a fancy to this cake. Candy House - Colorful Version Candy House - Colorful Version
I made this with my daughter (a freshman in high school)! This is the second year. This time, because we had differing opinions, we made 2 houses. We matched the size to the the baking tray and completed it using that small space. For the icing, make the color by dissolving some food coloring in a little bit of water to get your favorite color! Depending on how you want to work, you can use a spoon or a piping bag to work the icing. The icing details, other than for building the house, dry quickly so don't make too much at one time. Use 1/3 egg whites and 50 g powdered sugar first. It uses a lot of powdered sugar, so it's best to have a big bag ready. For the marzipan, I used the type sold in the markets! Dissolve the food coloring powder in a little bit of water to get your favorite colors. Once it feels like you're playing with clay, you can make the shapes. Recipe by Ranpuai cookpad.japan
