After visiting Busan, I couldn't forget the local pork trotters. I researched recipes and happened to have pork belly on hand. Surprisingly, the taste was about 70% similar 🤣🤣. It's very delicious!

After visiting Busan, I couldn't forget the local pork trotters. I researched recipes and happened to have pork belly on hand. Surprisingly, the taste was about 70% similar 🤣🤣. It's very delicious!

Pat the thawed pork belly dry and pan-fry both sides until golden brown.

Pour a whole bottle of dark beer over the pork belly, add green onion pieces, sugar, and soy sauce. Simmer over medium-low heat, occasionally opening the lid to flip the meat and ensure both sides are colored.

Simmer for 30-40 minutes. When the sauce is almost reduced, add honey and increase to medium-high heat to reduce the sauce completely.

For the sauce, roast the garlic in the oven for 5 minutes, then crush with a spoon and mix with honey.

Let the pork from step three cool slightly, then slice it. Drizzle with the sauce and optionally sprinkle some sesame seeds. Since the fat is cooked off during the braising process, it's not greasy at all. It's very delicious!
