Steps
- 1
Place the broken chocolate and butter in a microwave-safe bowl or dish and heat in the microwave until melted. Once melted, mix with a whisk.
- 2
In a separate bowl, crack the eggs, add sugar, and whisk until slightly pale.
- 3
Add the melted chocolate mixture and heavy cream to the egg mixture and whisk together.
- 4
Sift the cake flour and cocoa into the mixture and gently fold with a rubber spatula.
- 5
Pour the batter into a 6-inch round pan lined with parchment paper and bake in a preheated oven at 340°F for 35-40 minutes.
- 6
Insert a skewer; if it comes out clean, the cake is done.
- 7
Once cooled, you can sprinkle with powdered sugar. Letting it sit in the refrigerator overnight enhances the flavor ♪
- 8
For Valentine's Day, I decorated with heart-shaped strawberries and whipped cream ♪
- 9
For reference... This is the cocoa and chocolate bar used. Of course, you can use your preferred cocoa and chocolate.
- 10
Baking time may vary depending on the oven, so keep an eye on it. Cover with aluminum foil midway to prevent burning.
