I always keep raw peanuts and hazelnuts in my freezer to cook with. I can make a small jar of the freshest peanut or hazelnut butter in minutes in my food processor.Roast whole Spanish or Valencia peanuts , drain off the oil, or roast whole hazelnuts, puree, add thick soy sauce, coconut milk, few drops agave syrup, few drops peanut oil, done.More expensive to make than store bought peanut butter, however: peanut butter is one of the items sold most often at a loss in supermarkets to draw customers.#GlobalApron Hobby Horseman -
Low fat peanut butter cookies Low fat peanut butter cookies
I took a recipe I found online and reduced the peanut butter by half, then added nonfat milk to make up the difference in liquids. My recipe made 14 cookies with 2.3 grams of fat per cookie. They are not as rich tasting or attractive as regular peanut butter cookies but I enjoyed them. It’s also not too sweet—if you want a sweeter cookie you could use more maple syrup in place of some of the milk. This is my first time making these so if you have any ideas or suggestions for improvements please let me know! wgreen39 -
