Easy Okonomiyaki: Even Hiroshima Natives Love Kansai Style

I'm thrilled that so many people have tried this recipe! You don't need okonomiyaki flour, yam, or nagaimo. This alone makes it fluffy and truly delicious.
The origin of this recipe: I made it for a home party. It's simple with ingredients that are easy to find even overseas.
I love Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki the most, but I also enjoy Kansai-style. If you use noodles from ID:19000860, it's a Kansai-Hiroshima collaboration. Made by a Hiroshima native who loves okonomiyaki!

Cooking Instructions
- 1
Preparation:
- Roughly chop the cabbage.
- Slice the green onions.
- Cut the ham into 1-2 cm squares.
- Beat the egg. - 2
Mix the ingredients marked with ◎ in a bowl, then add the ingredients marked with ◆.
Add water in 2-3 parts, mixing each time. - 3
Once there are no lumps, add the cabbage, green onions, and ham, and mix well.
- 4
Heat oil in a frying pan and spread the batter, keeping it from getting too large. (You can also add ham or pork on top for extra flavor.)
- 5
Cook over medium heat. Once one side is cooked, flip it over quickly, cover, and steam for 3-4 minutes until done. Enjoy!
- 6
Additional note:
To make a large batch, I baked it in the oven at 200°C (about 400°F) for 40 minutes, but the frying pan gives a better finish. - 7
I use one egg to keep it low-calorie, but it's also delicious with two eggs. Use less water if using two eggs.

A Kansai Native's Light and Fluffy Okonomiyaki A Kansai Native's Light and Fluffy Okonomiyaki
This is a recipe that was improved using the know-how I picked up when I worked at an okonomiyaki restaurant . I'm quite particular about okonomiyaki . This amount always yields fluffy okonomiyaki pancakes . It doesn't taste like tofu at all!Using the tofu and grated yam for the base is important! While using an egg beater to whip air into the dough, thoroughly mix it all together smoothly . You can also mix the okonomiyaki flour with plain flour and bonito flakes . It is messy though, so my family just uses okonomiyaki flour lol. It's a normal pork okonomiyaki . Recipe by *peace* cookpad.japan -

A Superb Okonomiyaki made by a Kansai Person (Flour Edition) A Superb Okonomiyaki made by a Kansai Person (Flour Edition)
People from the Kansai region crave flour-based dishes at least once a week! I experimented to see how much I could replicate the taste of a restaurant, and this was the most delicious! If you make when cabbage is in season, and let the ingredients sit in the fridge, then you can make it deliciously . I also have a version using okonomiyaki flour!Point 1: Make sure to let the batter sit overnight! Let it sit for at least 2-3 hours if you want to eat it straight away! Also, make sure to thoroughly drain the water from the vegetables! This helps keep the batter soft and crunchy!Point 2: The trick to cooking the batter is to go from medium to low to high heat, and crisp the top! The insides will be fluffy! For 2-3 okonomiyaki pancakes. Recipe by yukarin0306 cookpad.japan -
