Separate the white and green parts of the green onions and slice them. Mince the garlic and ginger.

Cut the firm tofu into bite-sized pieces. Using firm tofu instead of regular tofu ensures it absorbs flavors well and is delicious.

Add sesame oil (not listed in ingredients) to a wok and add the doubanjiang before the oil gets hot. Stir-fry over medium heat to bring out the spiciness of the doubanjiang.

Once the doubanjiang is fragrant, turn the heat to high and stir-fry the ground meat.

When the meat is cooked, add the garlic, ginger, and the white parts of the green onions. Stir-fry together to bring out the aroma.

Add the firm tofu and the ingredients marked with ★, and mix quickly (the firm tofu won't crumble easily).

Once everything is mixed, add water and simmer until the liquid is reduced by half. Finally, add the green parts of the green onions and cook briefly.

Pour in the cornstarch slurry to thicken the sauce and finish.
