Slow Cooker Sunday Sauce/Gravy

I call it sauce, but I have family and friends that call it Gravy. That is fine with me. The bottom line is that it is so delicious, no matter what you call it.

If you have little ones or very little time to cook, this is the perfect dish to make. I would love to make this on the stove-top, but do not have the time, so I decided to try it in a slow cooker. It makes a lot, so either invite people over or be prepared to eat a lot.

The sugar helps to eliminate the bitterness of the canned sauces. You can use other meats, instead of stew meat. I have heard people use ribs, which I will try one day. Sounds good to me.

Enjoy!

Steps

  1. 1

Preheat Broiler for the meatballs. Put the meatballs into the broiler for 7 minutes, flip them. Place the meatballs back into the broiler for another 7 minutes. Remove the meatballs, put them to side to cool.

  2. 2

Keep the broiler on and put the sausages into the broiler. Cook the sausages for 6 minutes, flip them, and put them back into the broiler for 6 minutes. Place the sausages with the meatballs to cool off.

  3. 3

Preheat a medium sized pan on a stove-top over a medium high heat. Add ground black pepper to all of the sides of the stew meat, then brown the stew meat on all sides. Once each side is browned, store with the sausages and meatballs.

Since I was a kid, I remember sitting in the kitchen to watch and/or help my parents. As I grew up, I decided to try their recipes and experiment with different recipes. Some were very good and I re-make them all of the time. Others? Yeah, I never tried them again. All of the recipes that I post are the very good ones. Also, while growing up, my pops suffered from high blood pressure, so my mom stopped adding sodium. Since that is how I was raised, all of the dishes that I post do not have any extra sodium added to it. A lot of friends and family who try my recipes, either do not notice nor miss it. But in no way am I saying not to add salt if you use my recipes. If you want to add it, then go for it.In closing, I hope that you enjoy my recipes. If you use any, then please post pictures. Enjoy!
