Freshly baked Buns at home sweet home with all that was handy. These are simple melt in mouth Buns that can be used according to one's own choice and preference.
They are quite easily done with just a few ingredients available in every pantry. The only thing to keep a check with is the quality of the Yeast used. Choose a good brand of it from a variety of them available in the markets.
Do not rush about the whole process. Proofing time is absolutely necessary and second proofing is also an inevitable part of any baking process. So be a little patient with this.
You can cut them into two from the centre and use your favourite fillings to enjoy these Buns.
Or make a lovely looking warm freshly baked Bun with Lamb Mince, Bell Peppers and Mozzarella Cheese for Eid celebrations. These are a perfect accompaniment for a delightful starter. Or these can also be served for Dinner with some peppy Soup.
Enjoy Cooking with Zeen!

Steps
- 1
For the dough, you need to first soak the yeast in warm milk along with sugar and let it activate. Add this frothy mix to the flour and salt. Throw in some olive oil and make a smooth dough out of it.
- 2
Cover it and let it rest for almost 2 hours in a warm place in your kitchen. If it's cold in your place, plug in your oven and preheat for almost 5 minutes and switch it off, then keep this in the oven. (see recipe)
- 3
Meanwhile prepare the mince filling with veggies. In a tablespoon of olive oil, saute finely chopped onions. Add the lamb mince. Saute the mince with the powdered spices for 4-5minutes before adding the coloured bell peppers. Saute all of that until the raw smell fades for 2-3 more minutes. Also add parsley flakes and fresh coriander leaves too. Let it cool. The spice level can be adjusted accordingly.
- 4
Now after the stipulated time, take it out onto the working surface. Punch it down to release the air bubbles. Divide the dough into equal roundels. Stuff them all with lamb mince with veggies plus cheese and make medium sized balls out of all the roundels. (see recipe)
- 5
Brush on top with the egg wash. Keep them covered and neatly arranged in a butter paper lined baking tray for a second proofing for about 25-30 minutes in all. Just prior to nearing the time, say about 10 minutes before or so, preheat your oven on 200°. (see recipe)
- 6
After 40 minutes of second proofing, bake them in a preheated fan-assisted oven at 180° for 15 to 18 minutes. Give the buns a milk wash and sprinkle some sesame or black seeds on top. Brush some melted butter on top after they are done.
- 7
Bake these for about 20-25 minutes. That's it. All done and set for a party. Enjoy these right from the oven with a warm bowl of your family's favourite Soup or on their own as well. They taste absolutely delicious. Enjoy! Yum!

Serve these scrumptious buns as an appetizer at a party or a weekend dinner at home with family and a few close-knit friends.
