Global Apron week 5 -( the flour feast challenge) -{ all purpose flour}, Baisakhi is a Sikh festival held annually to commemorate the founding of the khasla by Guru Gobind Singh Ji 🙏🌹🌺🪷🙏in 1699. It is usually celebrated on 13 April every year, it marks the Sikh new year and marking the solar new year, also celebrating the spring harvest.
Baisakhi holds a great religious and historical significance among Sikh community people. Happy Baisakhi

Preheat oven at 180°c, line a parchment paper on a round cake tin grease it keep aside and in a bowl 🥣 add all purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon powder, nutmeg powder,salt mix together and keep aside, In a bowl 🥣, add sugar and eggs 🥚 beat together until light fluffy, add vanilla extract beat.

Add flour mixture and mix well, add dry fruits, sliced almonds 🌰, sliced cashew nuts, black currant raisins, glace cherries, chopped dates and mix well, gently. Pour in prepared cake tin and bake for 30 mins or a knife is inserted in the center comes out clean, remove from the oven and keep in the cake tin for 5 mins, then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.

Note: I have used direct buttercream on my dry fruits cake, and it was delicious. the signs on the cake is used for religious purpose, if using for any other purpose, just omit religious signs.

For frosting: beat butter 🧈/ margarine 🧈, add icing sugar, beat till fluffy, add milk 🥛 and mix gently, divide the mixture into two, in one portion add orange food colour liquid and almond extract and mix well, in second portion add blue food colour liquid and raspberry extract and mix well, decorate your cake as per your desired.

Garnish with marzipan roses 🌹, serve. Happy birthday to khalsa and happy new year.
