Orange Pudding Slices

I have made these for ages. I think the first time I made these on my own... I was in high school. I never actually wrote down the recipe. Just winged it. I am teaching my kids to cook, so I start to jot down recipes for them.
Orange Pudding Slices
I have made these for ages. I think the first time I made these on my own... I was in high school. I never actually wrote down the recipe. Just winged it. I am teaching my kids to cook, so I start to jot down recipes for them.
Steps
- 1
You can divide the orange into two equal pieces (vertically) and scoop the flesh, or trim the top of orange before scooping the flesh out. Remove the flesh and use a juicer (or good ol' strainer) to get the juice.
- 2
Add water to the juice. (I got about 500 ml of liquid altogether)
- 3
Add a pinch of salt, sugar, agar-agar to the liquid. Add food coloring, if using. Use low heat and stir from time to time until agar-agar and sugar dissolve.
- 4
When the liquid is boiling, turn off the heat. Wait until bubbles disappear. Pour into orange molds and wait at least a couple of hours before slicing.
