This is a basic version of Scotch Pie. The recipe can be improved endlessly. Today with minced beef, and I also like it with Haggis and vegetables.

Steps
- 1
Boil the potatoes. Mash into puree with added butter and milk.
- 2
Place minced meat in a dry frying pan. Start frying over medium heat. Add tomato paste, wine concentrate (or pour in wine), dry herbs and garlic. Mix. Add salt.
- 3
Add boiling water, approximately 100 ml. Stir well. Simmer covered for 15 minutes until the sauce thickens a little.
- 4
Place the prepared minced meat sauce in a baking dish. Top evenly with mashed potatoes.
- 5
Grate the cheese on a fine grater. Sprinkle on top of potatoes.
- 6
Bake in an oven preheated to 220 degrees (preferably under the grill) for 10 minutes. Until the cheese turns golden brown.
- 7
Serve with blanched green peas and green onions.
