A method to keep the apples from breaking apart. Might also work for Tarte Tatin!

I love apple pie and have tried many methods, but this one is my favorite.

Ingredients

  1. 3apples
  2. 1/4 cupgranulated sugar (about 60 grams)
  3. 2 teaspoonslemon juice

Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

Peel the apples and cut them into 8 wedges each.

  2. 2

Place the apples in a pot and sauté over medium heat. Once they soften, add half of the granulated sugar.

  3. 3

Once everything is well mixed, add the remaining granulated sugar and lemon juice, and increase to high heat. When the juices start to release, reduce to medium heat, cover, and simmer for about 7 minutes.

  4. 4

Remove the lid and boil over high heat to evaporate the liquid. Once the liquid is gone, it's done.

  5. 5

Remove from the pot and spread out on a tray to cool. It's okay if there's no liquid left.
