Wash dal thoroughly, soak for over night. Drain water, in a mixer jar add all the ingredients, make a smooth batter.

Add sugar for taste and crunch. Rest for 1/2 an hour.

Add baking soda, put on non-stick pan, add chopped topping. Flip on other side.

Serve hot with sambhar and chutney.
