Sugar-Dusted Ka'ak (Egyptian Cookies) 😋

Warm the milk and add the yeast. Set aside while you prepare the other ingredients. Melt the clarified butter or ghee over heat. In a large bowl, combine the flour, salt, sugar, sesame seeds, and baking powder.

Pour the hot clarified butter or ghee over the flour mixture and stir with a large spoon until the dough cools slightly. Begin kneading the dough, working it together. Add the milk and yeast mixture, knead well, and gather the dough into a ball. Let the dough rest for a while as you prepare the baking sheets.

Grease the baking sheets. Shape the dough using a ka'ak mold or by hand, filling with Turkish delight or date paste, or leave plain. Arrange on the baking sheets and bake in a preheated oven at a low temperature for 20 minutes.

Remove from the oven and let cool. Dust generously with powdered sugar and serve. Enjoy!
