Cook the Rice:
Rinse the basmati rice thoroughly under cold water until the water runs clear.
In a pot, add the rinsed rice and 2 cups of water. Bring it to a boil, then reduce the heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the water is absorbed.
Fluff the rice with a fork and set aside

Prepare the Jamun:
While the rice is cooking, heat oil or ghee in a pan over medium heat.
Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
Add the chopped green chili, onion, garlic, and ginger. Sauté until the onion becomes translucent.
Add Spices and Jamun:
Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
Add the chopped jamun and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the jamun softens and releases its juices.

Combine with Rice:
Add the cooked rice to the pan with the jamun mixture. Mix gently to combine all the ingredients.
Sprinkle garam masala and mix well. Cook for another 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
Garnish and Serve:
Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
Serve hot with yogurt or a side dish of your choice.
