Ingredients

40 minutes
Makes 4 parathas
  1. For the dough : 👇
  2. 3/4 cupwhole wheat flour
  3. 3/4 cup maida
  4. 1 tsp oil for kneading
  5. Salt to taste
  6. Stuffing :👇
  7. 2 tbsp oil
  8. 2 tbsp ginger, finely chopped
  9. 2 tbsp garlic, finely chopped
  10. 1/2 cup carrots 🥕, thinly sliced
  11. 1/2 cup capsicum,finely sliced
  12. 1 cup cabbage, shredded
  13. 1 cup boiled noodles
  14. 1/4 cup onions, finely sliced
  15. 3 tsp Schezwan chutney
  16. 1 tsp soy sauce
  17. 1 tsp vinegar
  18. Salt to taste
  19. Slurry :👇
  20. 2 tbspplain flour
  21. 4 tbspwater
  22. Other Ingredients :
  23. Plain flour for rolling
  24. 11/2 tbsp butter for cooking

Steps

40 minutes
  1. 1

    For the dough : In a plate mix plain flour, whole wheat flour,salt, add approx 1 cup water to make a soft dough. Add oil, knead & cover. Keep aside.

    Stuffing : Take oil in a pan, add ginger, onions & garlic & saute on a high flame.

    Add vegetables & noodles & mix well.

    Add Schezwan chutney,soy sauce & vinegar & salt.

    Saute on high flame for 2 minutes. Keep aside.

    How to make Lifafa :
    Divide the dough into 6 portions.

    Take 1 portion,roll into a 9" round circle with the help of the plain flour.

    Put the portion of the stuffing in the centre & fold the opposite sides of the roti on the stuffing, overlapping them slightly.

    Apply plain flour slurry with the help of a brush 🖌️.

    Fold the remaining 2 sides of the roti to make an envelope.

    Heat a non-stick pan & cook envelope on both the sides till brown spots appear on them. Vertically hold the paratha to cook it evenly on all sides.

    Remove the Paratha in a plate & serve immediately. Make other parathas the same way.

    Note. : These Chinese Lifafa Paratha are very tasty with sweet, sour & spicy taste, so you do not need any accompaniment with it. They taste delicious just on their own. So do try this new version of Indo - Chinese dish....... you are sure to love it.
