Soak poppy seeds in warm water for 30 minutes. Put in a grinding jar, add 1 green chilli and grind to a paste.

Peel and cut potatoes into small pieces. Heat oil in a pan, add nigella seeds. When seeds crackle, add potatoes.

Saute 2 minutes on high flame.

Add turmeric powder and salt. Saute 1 minute.

Add poppy seeds paste. Mix well. Add 1/2 cup water. Cover and cook till done.

Potatoes are soft now, dry water if any. Add 1-2 slit green chillies. Aloo posto is ready to be served.
