To celebrate Ganesh ji Chaturthi, I prepared modak bhog made with semolina and coconut as prime ingredients. It's simple and easy to prepare.
Steps
- 1
Dry roast semolina on low flame till aromatic and change in colour. Keep aside. Soak saffron strands in 1/4 cup warm milk.
- 2
Roast coconut powder with semolina for a minute. Mix sugar too.
- 3
Mix well the roasted chopped dry fruits and ghee with semolina and coconut powder.
- 4
Now add, 2 cups of milk, and soaked saffron with milk to semolina, on low to medium heat saute continuously. Add cardamom powder. The milk would be absorbed by sooji and a mass will be formed. Cool semolina mass and make the modak. Thanks.
