Galangal or Thai Ginger is an incredible one, very essential and plays an important role in Arab, Asian and Southeast Asian cuisines. It's a Rhizome, belongs to the Ginger family. But very different from the actual Ginger. Ginger is spicy and sweet with an aroma of a Lemon while Galangal is peppery and earthy with a strong hint of Mustard. Both are therefore different one's and cannot be the same. Both have their own flavours.
Galangal is known as Thai Ginger or Siamese Ginger. In Hindi, it's known as Kulanjan/Bara Kulanjan. It is most commonly used in Thai, Malaysian and Indonesian cooking. It's known as Ginger because it resembles fresh Ginger so much. It has many potential benefits. It reduces inflammations, improves fertility and helps in maintaining Brain health.

This Tea or hot concoction is made by me with Sun dried Galangal. It is purely homemade and stored by me for further use in airtight container after thoroughly washing, cutting and Sun drying. This is because we don't get it easily and therefore this is the best alternative. This Tea is such a wonderful option for any day. It uplifts your mood. Helps you feel good and is absolutely beneficial. It refreshes our mind.

Homemaker by choice and a passionate cook by heart. An aspiring cook who actually never knew anything about Cooking until i became a mother myself. With Motherhood came the responsibilities as well and this was the turning point in my life.I started to learn the ABC's of cooking, taking help from my mother and my MIL. And time just flew. I spread my wings higher and higher. With my love for excellence and innovation, i stepped into a world of homecooks with my exposure to Cookpad one fine day on the social media. And there was no looking back since then and i have not only shared recipes here on this wonderful platform but also have made some lovely friends as well. Today iam successful because of my hard work, dedication and loads of good wishes of my family and my kids in particular.
