Parippu curry is Kerala style moong dal which is a simple dish and it can prepared using very less ingredients. It is an important part of Onam sadhya.
Steps

First of all Wash mogar dal and take in cooker. add salt and turmeric. Then put on medium to high flame 5 to 6 whistle or 9 to 10 minutes.

Take a mixture jar, add fresh coconut, salt, green chilli, onion, cumin and crush it then add 2 tbsp water in it. crush it and make smooth paste.

Now mash the dal. add coconut paste and little water in it and put on low to medium flame for 7 to 8 minutes. Keep stirring little by little so that the bottom does not stick

Heat ghee in a pan, add mustard, red chilli, Curry leaves and Long chopped onions.Let it cook till the onion turns brown.

Now add onions to the prepared parippu curry. Now take in a bowl and serve it with rice and pickles.
