Wash green gram & take it in a pressure cooker. Add 2 cups of water & take 4 whistles.

Open the pressure cooker when the steam is released.

Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds. When they crackle, add ginger, curry leaves & asafoetida & saute on a slow flame for a few seconds.

Add the cooked green gram along with water, mix well on a slow flame & bring it to a boil.

Add lemon juice & coriander & mix well. Serve hot.
