  • Cost: grapeseed oil 50 cents, truffle powder 25 cents, $12 a bottle on the internet

    Truffle oil is drizzled over finished dishes. It deteriorates the moment you make it. To serve fresh, whisk truffle powder into neutral tasting grapeseed oil and drizzle.
    Our favorites are mild white fish and mild aged cheddar cheese snacks.

    Truffle powder is used when cooking dishes. The truffle powder zest is excellent in keeping its fresh and pungent flavor. We use the same quantities as freshly ground white pepper for the dishes. Our favorites are scalloped potatoes Anna and truffle liver pate.

My grandparents and parents taught me growing, cooking and preserving home grown fruits and vegetables, eggs, meats and fish. I got certified by the University of California Master Gardener Program in 2005. I try to bring out the original flavor of ingredients, then add layers of spices, herbs and flavorings that enhance, not distort the taste.
